Stop One. Stop Them All.

World Wildlife recently released a series of ads that many find both "shocking" and "morbid."

The ads center on the numerous industries and people of power contributing "behind-the-scenes" in the poaching, trading and eventual sale of wildlife products. 

A pyramid operation that begins with wildlife poachers, but is ultimately driven by the high demands of those at the top, 

consumers.

The middle consists of those who strive to satisfy that demand and who do so at whatever the cost.

Although conservation laws have been put into place to help prevent wildlife crime, illegal poaching and trading still continue and demand for ivory is high. The trade and sale of old ivory is still legal and potential buyers looking to purchase legal ivory are often mislead. Something poachers are finding easy to do, using techniques to make new ivory appear old, in order to avoid detection by law enforcement. This makes it next to impossible for consumers who are making ivory purchases to ensure that the ivory they are buying is not illegally acquired.

In fact, the only way to avoid accidentally buying these illegally trafficked goods is to avoid the purchase of ivory entirely. 

And with ivory in such high demand, that option seems far from likely.

With so many working tirelessly to fuel illegal trading, it has become an extremely difficult operation to pinpoint, target and shut down. Corruption is rife even among enforcement agencies and many of the leaders ("bosses") of illegal trading markets are not only hard to track down but even more difficult to arrest, once enough evidence is gathered and a sting operation can be put into place. A problem likely attributable to inside informants notifying sellers, who quickly pack up and disappear.

Illegal trade is likely to continue as long as there is a high enough demand for it and enforcement laws remain lax. 

WWF wants to spread awareness about the issue in the hopes that people will add their voice in the fight to prevent and stop the trade of wildlife.

Awesome Surprise Gifts From Vocalpoint

I live in the amazing, sunny state of Florida so, sunscreen is a must. 

Especially, if you plan on being outdoors often. 

And, as a lover of both the beach and the sun.....

I am rarely NOT outdoors so, it is always nice to have plenty of it handy. ^.~

The other day, I received a wonderful surprise gift from Vocalpoint and the timing couldn't have been more perfect! Inside, the box contained EXACTLY what I needed more of...

SUNSCREEN!

Just to share a little of my thoughts on Vocalpoint. While I wouldn't categorize it as a simple "word-of-mouth" or, product testing site (like, BzzAgent), the site does offer occasional testing opportunities. The best attribute, however, is that it allows members to connect and share ideas, tips and advice with one another and is one of the few sites where you are able to interact with and feel part of a "social network community," rather than just spending a majority of your online time pushing products, getting reviews in, and generally being hassled along the way.

I rate it as one of my personal favorites to work with.

Later on, I will definitely write up and post a full detailed review on both the Vocalpoint site and the lovely gifts they've given me, but am a bit behind on getting this blog up and running due to my ChowChow, Gizmo, falling seriously ill. As a result, most of my time will be devoted to making sure he is comfortable, caring for him and, of course, worrying about him constantly.

However, I promise to try to get as much as possible finished and, hopefully, will have all the kinks worked out and my blog running properly by the end of next week! HOORAY!

So, I Just Started My First Blog! YEY!

Hi! I'm Danni and I recently decided to start a blog with the intention of doing mostly reviews for Product Testing websites, Reader/Survey Panels and word-of-mouth (WOM) programs along with, a little bit of some of the activities and events I do on occasion, articles I find humorous, fashion, beauty/makeup related ravings.....
Honestly, a mixture of whatever I feel like writing about....

And THIS will be my very first one so, YEY! 

And, just so we're clear, I DID NOT pick this review out of preference over the others. I mainly chose to do this review FIRST because the deadline was creeping up (it's tomorrow actually) and I really wanted to throw some stuff out there. (Not to mention my inbox was getting blown up on a daily basis with emails regarding my lack of participation). So, I chose the most annoying first. ^_^! CONGRATULATIONS TO.....

BzzAgent!

Okay, BzzAgent really isn't all that bad and maybe I'll write a separate piece explaining what it is and how it works, but for now, I will briefly outline what the general rundown is (leaving out most details and probably getting a few wrong).
Basically, you sign up to try, review and promote a variety of products, for FREE. You join the program, fill out a few surveys to provide them with a little background information on yourself and wait for a "Bzz Campaign" that fits your profile. Once you accept a campaign they offer you, you are sent products, through the mail, to try out and then provide your honest feedback on. There are a lot of little "extras" involved with the program, but I'll leave that for another blog, on another day, sometime in the distant future....

Anyway, the first campaign I received was for

and my very first blog review will be my 100% honest thoughts and opinions. 

By the way, I am extremely excited to be starting this blog and although it needs some (a lot) of improvement, I am working on trying to make it better, easier, and more tolerable to look at. I am definitely NOT what you would call "tech savvy", but I am blessed with amazing and talented individuals who are going to help me make a masterpiece out of this beautiful disaster I have created!

Hopefully soon, I will move on to videos, giveaways, and all sorts of wonderful stuff! (All things that I would not be able to do without their help).
But, for now, I'm going to keep it simple and give you the "Bzz" on a product that should be on every one's list of "Beach Bag Must Haves".....
